When you first visit our homepage, we determine the country you are accessing from based on your IP address. This is done solely to automatically redirect you to the language version of our website that matches your region, and to pre-select the correct country dial code in our application form.
Country detection is performed entirely server-side on our own server using a local database (MaxMind GeoLite2-Country). Your IP address is not transmitted to any third party and is used only momentarily to determine the ISO country code (e.g. "DE", "AR"). The IP address itself is not stored.
The GeoLite2 database is provided by MaxMind Inc. (USA); it is a file stored on our server — there is no live data transmission to MaxMind.
